Technical Details
Accessing the Hosted Business Platform system is very easy. You can connect to the system by using Remote Desktop Connection, a free program included by default with all versions of Microsoft Windows. For users with Apple Mac systems, you can quickly and easily download this software from the Microsoft website (click here). Users operating a Linux based system can also download free software to connect (e.g. rdesktop).
The Complete Business Platform is provided as a Virtual Server hosted on our VMware vSphere infrastructure. Click here to read more about our infrastructure.
The specifications of the Virtual Server will vary depending on your businesses exact requirements. Typical resource allocation for a normal SMB client would be similar to this:
- Windows Server 2008 R2
- 1 vCPU
- 2048 MB RAM
- 30GB vHDD
- 30GB Data Transfer
- 5 User license pack consisting of:
- Remote Desktop Service CAL
- Office Standard CAL
- Hosted Microsoft Exchange CAL
This configuration is the most flexible platform to start most business with this service. The virtual hardware specifications allow enough performance head room to install all of your typical business applications.
As the number of applications that you use increased, and as the number of simultaneous users to the system increases, you may see a performance benefit in increasing the virtual hardware provisioned to the system. This upgrade in hardware is very quick and simple to implement, and in most cases simply requires a restart of the system to effect.
We highly recommend you consult our sales staff if you have any questions regarding this service, as they can customise this base configuration to your exact business requirements. You can contact our sales staff here.
